1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work, to make them work more efficiently, and to provide reporting information. "Similar technologies" includes things like local storage, session storage, and pixels — we use these terms interchangeably below.
2. How we use cookies
We use cookies to operate the Service (for example, to keep you signed in), to remember your preferences, and to understand how the Service is used at an aggregate level so we can improve it. We do not use cookies for cross-site advertising, and we do not allow third-party advertisers to drop cookies through our Service.
3. Categories of cookies we use
| Category | Purpose | Examples |
|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | Authenticate users, secure sessions, prevent CSRF, persist consent choices. Required to deliver the Service. | Clerk session cookies (__session), cross-site request tokens, consent record. |
| Functional | Remember preferences such as theme, last-selected workspace, and chat layout. | theme, last_org. |
| Analytics | Measure feature usage and performance in aggregate. We use first-party analytics where possible. | PostHog anonymized event identifiers. |
| Advertising | We do not currently use advertising cookies. If this changes, we will update this policy and seek consent before deployment where required by law. | — |
4. How long do cookies last?
- Session cookies are deleted when you close your browser.
- Persistent cookies remain on your device for a defined period (typically up to 12 months) or until you delete them.
5. Your choices
You can control cookies in several ways:
- Within the Service: use the cookie banner shown on first visit (in regions where required) to set your preferences. You can change them later from Settings → Privacy.
- In your browser: most browsers let you view, delete, and block cookies. Refer to your browser's help pages for instructions.
- Do Not Track: our Service responds to applicable opt-out signals such as Global Privacy Control. We do not respond to legacy DNT headers as the standard has been deprecated.
Disabling strictly-necessary cookies will prevent the Service from functioning correctly — for example, you will not be able to stay signed in.
6. Third-party cookies
Some cookies are set by third parties whose services we embed (for example, our authentication provider Clerk and our analytics provider). Their use of cookies is governed by their respective privacy policies. Links to those policies are available in our Privacy Policy.
7. Changes to this policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. The version in effect is the one published at the URL above on the date of access.
